Real Deal UK: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Real Deal UK is a browser extension that records the prices of products on UK retail websites as you browse them, and shows you the price history so you can tell whether a sale price is a real reduction.
Summary
The extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything it records stays in your browser on your own device. There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
What the extension stores
When you view a product page on a supported shop, the extension saves the following in your browser's local extension storage:
- the product's page address, name and image address;
- the price shown, with the date and time it was seen;
- whether you chose to watch the product for price drops.
This information never leaves your device. The developer has no server and cannot see it.
Websites the extension works on
The extension runs only on these shops: Argos, Currys, John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Very and AO. It does not read or record anything on any other website.
Network requests
For products you have chosen to watch, the extension periodically requests the product's page from the shop to read the current price. These requests go directly from your browser to the shop, in the same way as visiting the page yourself, and are sent without your cookies or login. No request is sent to the developer or to any third party.
Deleting your data
You can delete the history for any product from the extension's popup using "Delete history". Removing the extension from your browser deletes everything it has stored.
Exporting your data
The "Export CSV" button saves your recorded prices to a file on your own device. The file is not sent anywhere.
Changes to this policy
If the extension changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated and the date above will change before the new version is released.

Questions about this policy can be sent to the contact email shown on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
